Requirements
  • Graduation from accredited school of nursing
  • Current RN license in the state of South Carolina
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
  • Proficiency in manual dexterity and fine motor skills for tasks such as taking patient vitals, administering injections, or conducting physical exams
  • Capacity to lift and move patients or medical equipment as needed
  • Visual acuity and color perception to accurately read medical charts, documents, and monitors
  • Auditory ability to effectively communicate with patients and colleagues, as well as to perceive important sounds such as alarms or patient instructions
  • Stamina and resilience to handle the physical and emotional demands of providing patient care, including long shifts and potentially stressful situations
  • Mobility to navigate clinical environments, including moving between patient rooms, offices, and other areas of the facility
  • Compliance with infection control protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment to maintain a safe and healthy work environment
Responsibilities
  • Provides post operative care for patients receiving general anesthesia and moderate sedation and assists the recovery room team as needed in any other capacity according to established processes
  • Demonstrates the ability to prioritize responsibilities to most effectively meet patient care needs
  • Recognizes emergency situations and initiates appropriate action
  • Monitors medical condition of patients and reports changes to the appropriate personnel
  • Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to assure optimal patient care
  • Assists physicians with examinations, procedures related to direct patient care
  • Has knowledge of all equipment, procedures and can instruct and precept personnel
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to patients’ comfort and privacy and maintains a safe, therapeutic and comfortable environment for patients and families in accordance with hospital standards
  • Orients, trains and instructs assigned personnel
  • Cooperates with other personnel to achieve departmental objectives and maintain good employee objectives
  • Monitors and ensures accuracy of recording of patient medical records maintaining all required reports, records and statistics
  • Performs other miscellaneous and related duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
  • Some clinical or hospital experience is preferred but not required
  • Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred
