Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 5 years of machining experience with proven technical aptitude in multi-turret functions.
  • Advanced machining knowledge involving CNC mills, lathes, multi-axis equipment, and precision measurement tools.
  • Proficiency in blueprint interpretation and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Familiarity with CNC programming, including G-code, computer-aided manufacturing software, or machine controls such as Fanuc, Haas, and Mazak.
  • Ability to develop the technical capabilities of team members and improve training documentation.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds throughout the workday.
Responsibilities
  • Optimize machining processes by improving cycle times, reducing scrap, and enhancing tool life through parameter adjustments and process refinement.
  • Troubleshoot CNC issues, including tooling failures, dimensional issues, machine alarms, and setup challenges.
  • Assist with G-code edits, offsets, toolpath adjustments, and program validation.
  • Create setup sheets, standard work instructions, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Recommend cutting tools, holders, and fixtures to improve performance and reduce cost.
  • Verify setups, inspect initial parts, and ensure processes meet print requirements.
  • Provide direction to machinists, prioritize work, and ensure smooth workflow across machines.
  • Assist with prototype machining, process development, and tooling trials for new product introduction.
  • Train and mentor current and new machinists on setups, measurement techniques, blueprint reading, and machine operations.
  • Support the career growth and technical development of apprentices, junior technicians, and new hires.
  • Reinforce quality, safety, and productivity standards through coaching and feedback.
  • Facilitate communication between engineering, quality, and production teams.
