Job Description

We are seeking a Lecturer (Level B) in Speech Pathology to join our team in a role that contributes to our teaching, research and professional practice education. You will play a key role in designing and delivering high-quality student learning opportunities within the Masters of Speech Pathology program while supporting broader program learning and teaching foci such as simulation, interprofessional education, and cultural safety. Ideally, yYour expertise will contribute to cutting-edge speech pathology research, ensuring that our programs remain at the forefront of evidence-based practice.  

As a Lecturer in Speech Pathology, you will:

• Develop and deliver engaging, evidence-based teaching for students enrolled in the Masters of Speech Pathology
• Collaborate with academic staff within the discipline and across disciplines to address speech pathology professional standards and accreditation requirements
• Conduct and contribute to research in speech pathology related areas
• Support the discipline to provide culturally safe education for students and prepare them for culturally safe practice.

This is a full time, continuing positionprimarily based at Griffith University Gold Coast campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.

Griffith University’s sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be Level B range $117,076 - $ 139,031 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $136,979 - $162,667 per annum.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will bring a passion for teaching and an innovative approach to student learning. You will have experience in teaching and/or supervising students in clinical and/or university settings across a range of speech pathology practice areas.

Ideally, you will have expertise in child speech, disability and/or augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) to complement the strengths of our existing team; however, this is not essential.

This role may suit an applicant with a PhD and an emerging research track record who is looking to further strengthen our teaching and research reputation. It may also suit an experienced speech pathologist who has commenced, or is willing to undertake, a PhD and is seeking to transition from professional practice into a university environment while drawing on significant industry experience.

You will hold membership of, or be eligible for membership with, Speech Pathology Australia.
