Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5-8 years of government, legislative affairs, and/or campaign experience
  • Experience interacting with lobbyists and elected officials
  • Management experience is a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of public policy, political campaigns, public affairs, and community outreach
  • Strong PC skills especially Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Outstanding English, writing, presentation, and public speaking skills
Responsibilities
  • Assist with management of government affairs activities
  • Coordinate efforts of outside lobbyists and consultants
  • Maintain relationships with grassroots community organizations and industry trade associations
  • Identify potential legislative changes and their impact
  • Ensure compliance with state and local laws
  • Monitor legislative activity
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on government/legislative matters
