Requirements
  • Extensive hands-on experience administering Linux servers and workstations in a production research or enterprise setting, including SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and/or Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Direct experience installing, upgrading, and supporting Signals Image Artist or comparable high-content imaging analysis platforms, including client/server version management.
  • Working knowledge of NVIDIA/CUDA driver stacks, GPU hardware troubleshooting, and high-performance computing scheduling concepts.
  • Experience with enterprise storage protocols and diagnosing storage and network connectivity issues on production servers.
  • Demonstrated ability to open, manage, and resolve technical issues through formal vendor support channels for hardware and software vendors.
  • A disciplined, documentation-driven approach to change management, including staged upgrade paths, risk assessments, and rollback planning before modifying production systems.
Responsibilities
  • Assess and align server configurations and Image Artist deployments across all sites to establish consistent, well-documented production and development environments and baselines.
  • Plan and execute vendor-supported Image Artist upgrades on both server and client sides, work directly with vendors to resolve blockers, and document the risk-benefit case for each release.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot NVIDIA/CUDA driver stacks and GPU compute nodes, resolve compatibility issues, and support high-performance computing cluster integration.
  • Support rollout of AI-based analysis tools such as Phenologic AI and benchmark performance across GPU and non-GPU configurations.
  • Lead large-scale data migrations between environments, including iSCSI/LUN troubleshooting and NetApp storage connectivity, while minimizing downtime and data loss.
  • Apply operating system patches, endpoint protection updates, and vendor mitigations fleet-wide to maintain supportable states.
  • Own support tickets and escalations and act as the technical liaison for platform status and upgrade planning.
  • Maintain runbooks, upgrade documentation, and equipment inventories and deliver regular status reports on platform health and progress.
