Requirements
  • 5–10 years of experience in electrical construction, quality assurance/quality control, or commissioning support within large-scale commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code, National Fire Protection Association standards, National Electrical Manufacturers Association standards, and applicable electrical installation standards; familiarity with National Electrical Testing Association testing requirements is preferred.
  • Proven experience performing field inspections of electrical systems, including power distribution, grounding and bonding, and critical equipment installations.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, specifications, and submittals.
  • Demonstrated experience managing quality documentation, including inspections, test records, and Non-Conformance Reports.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with field leadership, general contractor and owner representatives, and commissioning teams.
  • High level of attention to detail with a disciplined approach to inspection, verification, and documentation.
Responsibilities
  • Implement the Corporate Quality Management System within the project’s electrical scope.
  • Review contract documents, drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure field installation aligns with approved requirements.
  • Identify quality risks, Definable Features of Work, and required inspection points during planning and execution.
  • Perform routine inspections of electrical installations, prefabrication assemblies, and equipment to verify compliance with specifications and workmanship standards.
  • Enforce installation requirements including A/B path segregation, grounding and bonding, labeling, and equipment alignment.
  • Verify required inspections are completed and documented prior to concealment of work.
  • Maintain consistent field presence to identify and correct deficiencies in real time.
  • Execute Inspection and Test Plans, ensuring hold points, witness points, and inspection milestones are achieved.
  • Verify completion and documentation of required electrical testing, including insulation resistance, continuity, torque, and grounding tests.
  • Support commissioning and energization readiness by confirming installations are complete, tested, and compliant.
  • Participate in system walkdowns, inspections, and readiness reviews with the general contractor, owner, and commissioning teams.
  • Identify, document, and manage Non-Conformance Reports, ensuring timely corrective action and closure.
  • Support root-cause analysis for recurring or critical quality issues.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready quality records, including inspections, test reports, and turnover documentation.
  • Coordinate with Project Management, Superintendents, Prefabrication, and Commissioning teams to integrate quality into all activities.
  • Provide routine quality reporting, including inspection status, Non-Conformance Report trends, and commissioning readiness.
  • Track quality performance metrics such as inspection completion, Non-Conformance Report trends, and rework.
  • Identify gaps and implement corrective actions to improve field execution and reduce defects.
  • Ensure all activities remain within the company’s authority, limited to inspection, verification, documentation, and corrective action for the electrical scope only.
Desired Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, engineering technology, or a related field.
  • ASQ Quality Technician or Quality Inspector certification.
  • National Electrical Testing Association Technician Level II or Level III certification.
  • NICET certification.
  • CQM-C or ISO Auditor credentials.
