Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management (or a related field) from an accredited institution with 2+ years of directly related Accounting, Finance, and/or Business Management professional experience - OR - a Master's degree or CPA with directly related Accounting, Finance, and/or Business Management professional experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management (or a related field) from an accredited institution with 5+ years of directly related Accounting, Finance, Business Management professional experience - OR - a Master's degree or CPA with 3+ years of directly related Accounting, Finance, and/or Business Management professional experience.
  • Basic computer and financial analysis skills, including use and understanding of spreadsheets.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong experience using MS Office applications including Word and Excel.
  • Recent Big 4 or recognized Public Accounting firm audit experience.
  • GAAP accounting proficiency and research experience.
  • Self-motivated, yet functions well in a team environment.
  • Prior experience in the aerospace & defense industry, or experience with cost-to-cost accounting and estimates at completion (EACs).
  • Experience focusing on continuous improvement and identifying efficiencies in recurring processes.
  • CPA License/CPA candidate in the near term.
  • Experience with SAP and/or HFM.
Responsibilities
  • Provide on call technical accounting guidance.
  • Conclude and provide guidance to the sector on accounting for leases (ASC 842), revenue recognition (ASC 606), and other accounting topics.
  • Assist the monthly financial statement close process, including preparing Costpoint, SAP & HFM journal entries on a recurring basis.
  • Assist in researching and analyzing application of accounting standards to complex business transactions.
  • Assist in drafting white papers summarizing technical accounting issues, application of accounting guidance to the company, alternatives available and recommendations.
  • Prepare and present accounting and policy training on an as-needed basis.
  • Provide support and respond to questions from external auditors.
  • Perform miscellaneous financial analysis, as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
