  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of an accredited Basic X-ray Machine Operator educational program is required.
  • A current Florida State License as a Basic X-ray Machine Operator is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support/Healthcare Provider certification is required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform basic radiological examinations, including quality-control and clerical duties.
  • Provide appropriate patient care, recognize patient conditions, and ensure successful completion of procedures.
  • Provide instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
  • Position patients, equipment, and associated devices and manipulate technical factors to produce high-quality images.
  • Assess diagnostic images for technical quality, annotation, patient identification, and demonstrated anatomy.
  • Apply radiation-safety principles to minimize exposure to patients, the operator, and others.
  • Ensure equipment is operating properly and report malfunctions to the Practice Manager or leader on duty.
  • Apply standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance as necessary.
  • Ensure customer safety.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance in accordance with applicable policies and standards.
  • Maintain compliance with Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area and equipment.
  • Keep work areas stocked and organized.
  • Transport patients.
