Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • An active Secret clearance is required, with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • The candidate must be able to obtain DHS Suitability before starting employment.
  • At least 8 years of directly relevant experience is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience designing cloud architectures is required, preferably on Amazon Web Services.
  • Strong expertise in Amazon Web Services services including Elastic Compute Cloud, Simple Storage Service, Virtual Private Cloud, Identity and Access Management, Lambda, and CloudFormation is required.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation is required.
  • Deep understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements is required.
  • Ability to design scalable, resilient, and cost-effective solutions is required.
  • Strong documentation and technical communication skills are required.
  • Experience with automation and scripting using Python, Bash, and PowerShell is required.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience, is required.
Responsibilities
  • Design, optimize, and enhance cloud-based architectures to support ESS operational requirements.
  • Create scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions that enable rapid deployment and customization of engagement infrastructure across diverse mission scenarios.
  • Lead planning and implementation for migrating on-premises capabilities into the Amazon Web Services cloud.
  • Customize capabilities to align with engagement scope and technical and operational parameters.
  • Develop automation frameworks to streamline provisioning and deployment processes.
  • Create and maintain infrastructure-as-code templates and documentation.
  • Ensure the architecture supports rapid reconfiguration for dynamic mission needs.
  • Implement security controls including encryption, namespace obfuscation, and hardened configurations.
  • Collaborate with DevOps engineers to enhance continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.
  • Evaluate and recommend new cloud services and technologies to improve operational capabilities.
  • Conduct architecture reviews and provide technical guidance to implementation teams.
  • Support troubleshooting of complex architectural issues during active operations.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience designing solutions for cybersecurity or incident response operations.
  • Knowledge of multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Experience with Splunk.
  • Experience migrating on-premises legacy systems to a cloud environment.
  • Experience with Azure and Entra.
  • Experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes and Elastic Container Service.
  • Familiarity with federal compliance frameworks including FedRAMP and NIST.
  • Background in system administration or DevOps.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification.
  • A Master’s degree.
