Requirements
  • An Associate’s degree from an accredited school in Nursing, Cardiovascular Technology, Cardiopulmonary Technology, or Radiologic Technology is required.
  • Maintain licensure, certification, or registry in the specific specialty.
  • Maintain a current Florida nursing license, Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist certification, or Radiologic Technologist certification, as applicable.
  • BLS/Health Care Provider certification is required.
  • ACLS certification is required.
  • Two years of cath lab experience are required.
Responsibilities
  • Direct and assist with daily workflow, including patient flow, supply ordering, staffing assignments, and resolution of customer service issues.
  • Lead the work of technologists, registered nurses, and support staff to ensure compliance with protocols and procedures.
  • Lead daily operational problem resolution.
  • Function at a supervisory level in the absence of the cath lab supervisor, manager, or director when requested.
  • Participate in supervising, training, and orienting new team members.
  • Communicate with the Medical Director to maintain and improve patient procedural operations and development.
  • Coordinate closely with the scheduling department and physicians to optimize patient and staff flow and resolve patient care issues.
  • Maintain a cooperative departmental working environment and report personnel inadequacies in skill, knowledge, or behavior.
  • Maintain radiation safety records for personnel.
  • Maintain compliance with Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Use and select supplies and equipment efficiently.
  • Ensure that all regulatory standards are met or exceeded.
  • Perform performance improvement initiatives and process-flow changes as directed.
  • Establish and assess staffing patterns that support customer service.
  • Assist with clerical duties, including printing reports, scanning documents, and scheduling patients.
  • Administer medical aid as required during emergencies.
  • Maintain departmental cleanliness and organization.
  • Work with vendors and Clinical Engineering to schedule equipment downtime for preventive maintenance and repairs, and report equipment issues promptly.
  • Assist with maintaining departmental timekeeping using Orlando Health’s timekeeping system.
  • Perform other duties as directed to assure quality customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with applicable policies and standards.

Florida cancer centre opens 31,000 sq ft St Petersburg facility with on-site imaging

Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute has opened a new 31,000-square-foot facility at Orlando Health Institute Square in St. Petersburg, expanding cancer care access in Pinellas County. The location at 725 6th Ave South features 18 private exam rooms, 47 infusion chairs and on-site PET/CT imaging. The facility offers advanced treatments including bispecific therapies and clinical trial participation, with plans to expand outpatient cell therapy programmes.
