Warehouse Lead - BUDA TX
shift - 8:30am - 5:00pm
Pay starting at $20.00
OVERVIEW:
The title for this position will be Warehouse Lead, Reporting to the Warehouse Manager. This position will be responsible for coordinating warehouse activities, including shipping & receiving, staging, system transactions, cycle counts, inventory rotation, stock location/consolidation, and FIFO activities. Strong interface with management staff and internal customers throughout the operation. Monitors progress against schedules and provides support in resolving on floor issues.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
The Warehouse Lead must be self-motivated and action oriented. This role is responsible for coordinating and assigning tasks to employees as per their designation.
- Coordinate, Assist, and Support Warehouse Team with the following assignments:
Warehouse Functions
- Stage ingredients & packaging for production by transferring items to the staging location and recording all associated ERP System transactions (including lot codes for traceability)
- Utilize stock rotation practices using FIFO (First-In, First Out) Practices.
- Monitor production usage throughout the day and replenish ingredients and supplies as necessary on a timely basis.
- Return unused ingredients and supplies to warehouse storage. Weigh partial contents of drums to document correct weight.
- Perform regular inventory cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Meet with the Purchasing Team daily to review available inventory and inbound stock plans.
- Clean warehouse to insure all required warehouse sanitation protocols are completed as scheduled.
- Assist with regular inventory cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
Shipping & Receiving Functions
- Assist with receiving and inspecting inbound shipments and completing transactions in ERP System.
- Weigh random drums/pales of ingredients at receipt to check for accuracy.
- Put items away in storage racks, cooler, and freezer and complete inventory movement transactions.
- Assist with picking and staging products for outbound shipments when necessary.
- Coordinates and schedules pick-ups and drop-offs with freight carriers.
- Ensure that all shipping and receiving orders are closed in a timely manner.
- Communicates changes/updates to Customer Service, Logistics, and Customer Arranged Carriers
- Accurately enter all bin locations and lot codes on pick lists for Logistics Coordinator.
- Enforce stock rotation practices using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) Practices.
Assist in Warehouse Activities
- Assist team members with Shipping, Receiving, and other warehouse functions as needed
- Schedules random cycle counts for each team member’s respective area each week.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- High School Diploma or equivalent minimum
- Warehouse and shipping experience
- Inventory Control experience
- Understanding of lot codes and traceability
- Proficient with PC Microsoft Office
- Possess good writing, math, and oral communication skills
- Must be dependable and able to work flexible hours, including weekends
- Communication is critical due to the amount of involved parties (internal & external).
WHAT WE'D LIKE TO SEE:
- Familiar with and understanding the responsibilities of handling food products for human consumption is a plus.
