Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations, marketing communications, or a related strategic communications function is required.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing communication strategies and programs within a complex corporate environment.
  • Experience working in highly regulated industries, healthcare, and/or supply chain.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate complex concepts and organizational initiatives into clear, concise, and impactful communications.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, proofreading, copyediting, storytelling, and content development skills with a strong command of grammar and business writing.
  • Proven ability to build partnerships, influence stakeholders, and provide consultative communication support.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on accuracy, attention to detail, and quality.
  • Experience measuring communication effectiveness and utilizing metrics to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Execute strategic internal and external communication plans that support organizational priorities, business objectives, and brand awareness initiatives.
  • Create compelling written content and storytelling initiatives that communicate company strategy, culture, and achievements.
  • Develop and maintain external communication materials that support company initiatives, brand visibility, corporate reputation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Support the development and coordination of external communications, including customer communications, employer branding content, and public-facing messaging as appropriate.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure consistency of messaging, branding, and communication strategies across internal and external audiences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support program initiatives.
  • Support employer branding initiatives by developing content that highlights company culture, teammate experiences, organizational achievements, and community involvement.
  • Monitor communication trends, engagement metrics, and stakeholder feedback to measure effectiveness and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Manage multiple communication projects simultaneously while ensuring quality, consistency, accuracy, and timely delivery.
  • Ensure all communications align with company brand standards, organizational values, communication governance requirements, and applicable compliance guidelines.
  • Support crisis and issue-management communications by assisting with the development and distribution of timely, accurate, and consistent messaging.
  • Foster collaborative relationships and encourage the sharing of ideas, innovation, and communication best practices across teams and departments.
  • Adapt and flex to deliver ad hoc projects as needed.

Tait joined Owens & Minor as interim CHRO in February 2026, bringing more than 30 years of cross-industry experience delivering people-first business strategies that drive measurable improvements in employee retention, cost efficiencies, and organizational performance that support overall business objectives. Owens & Minor has appointed Jim Marshall as its new CEO, adding a veteran healthcare and medical products executive to lead the distributor's next phase Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Health Systems at McKesson, where Owens & Minor noted he helped drive double-digit growth across revenue, profitability and market share. Prior to that, Marshall spearheaded McKesson's U.S. Pharma operations unit as VP and General Manager.
