About the Role
Ogilvy PR is seeking a seasoned, strategic PR leader to help grow our Chicago PR team, and contribute to key clients in the food space. As an SVP, this leader will work closely with the local, integrated teams and clients served out of Chicago – in the design, CPG, food & beverage industries – to evolve strategic communications, support current work and identify organic growth. Additionally, the SVP will partner with leadership to add depth and expertise to our growing PR offering.
This senior leader will significantly contribute to the agency’s overall performance and revenue, identify, and develop new business opportunities and serve as a valued leader and resource for the agency at large. This person shall exemplify and manage achievement of the firm’s vision, values, and management philosophies.
What You’ll Do
Account Management:
- Lends skills, capabilities, or knowledge to assist managing directors in problem-solving on behalf of clients, teams, or general management of the office
- Ensure the team is right-staffed and structured to meet client needs.
- Ensure that proper client-related financial procedures are followed.
- Actively contribute to the growth and development of their respective agency practice area.
- Effectively manages account teams to ensure that work and service is delegated to the appropriate experience levels within the team structure.
- Leverages client relationships for the benefit of the firm.
- Develops the professional and management skills of team members; provides ongoing feedback and training opportunities for team.
Financial/Administrative
- Manages overall financial performance of account
- Leads efforts to develop and achieve company revenue and profitability projections.
- When necessary and appropriate, intervenes with account teams and clients to address financial and billing issues.
- Completes timesheets and otherwise acts in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Business Development
- Identifies and develops new business opportunities.
- Valued as a routine contributor of informed, analytical, and strategic contributions to new program development.
People Management
- Manages overall performance assessment, training, and development of relevant staff.
- Conducts appraisals and career development counseling for direct reports.
- Manages staff to maximize performance and productivity.
What You’ll Need
- You will need to be a strategic PR expert with 12+ years of agency experience in consumer/brand PR, specifically in food and CPG industries
- Previous experience leading and managing a team of public relations professionals
