Requirements
- BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of national account sales management or equivalent experience working directly with a retailer in a buying or merchandising function
- Advanced Microsoft office skills (Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Ability to travel roughly 30%
Responsibilities
- Develop go-to-market placement strategies for new product launches across the U.S. and developing new Sales Channels while coordinating customer needs and maximizing internal launch cycles cross-functionally
- Ability to be a successful sales leader, acting as the “business manager “of your business, including cross-functional team leadership, financial and analytical savvy and demonstrated thought leadership on how to achieve breakthrough distribution goals across all new category launches. Own the “big picture” but also must have the ability to drill down and own the details as needed
- Negotiate financial terms such as but not limited to retail gross margin, payment terms, promotional funding and merchandising expenses
- Develop distribution strategies that allow our brands to win where the consumer shops in an everchanging retail environment
- Leading seasonal trade shows to showcase our innovation and network buyers/DMM's, and store managers
- Driving cross-functional workshops with Marketing and Product Development to modify the prodcut roadmap to meet the needs of our customers
- Critical decision making, based on financial analysis of multiple scenarios to drive profitable growth, often diving into the details and understanding what comprises & drives contribution margin $ and %
- Drive the strategy and own the outcome for customer meetings; leveraging internal support areas
- Execution focused; mindful of key milestones and a demonstrated ability to provide executive reporting on new business opportunities
- Working with the Demand Planning and Supply Chain teams to optimize the flow of goods, including the monthly forecast cycle and long-range plans
- Working with Category Analytics & Strategic Sales teams to determine go-to-market strategies based upon retailer/channel share
- Proactive communicator to cross-functional teams, identifying actions needed to maximize distribution
- Lead and engage in subject matter expert forums with cross-functional teams internally to help determine how we launch new categories as well as working with outside consults to information gather leading into new category launches
