Folio provides a financial operations platform tailored for the hospitality industry. It offers three main products: Folio Buy, a centralized marketplace that lets hotel operators order from approved vendors; Folio Bills, an AI-powered invoice processing system that automatically matches invoices, routes them for approvals, and handles the workflow; and Folio Pay, which speeds up supplier payments via virtual cards and ACH. The platform consolidates procure-to-pay tasks to boost profitability and financial visibility while reducing back-office work. Folio differentiates itself by (a) focusing specifically on hotels and hotel management companies, (b) using AI to automate invoice processing and routing, and (c) turning accounts payable from a cost center into a potential revenue driver through monthly rebates on eligible supplier payments. The company's goal is to help hoteliers improve cost control and financial insight while scaling adoption across the hospitality sector.

Brand Standards for easier on-brand buying.

Brand Standards for easier on-brand buying. Aug 14, 2026. This week, Folio adds Brand Standards to Folio Buy make it even easier to buy the right item from the right supplier. Before Folio, one hotel manager watched their properties buy 87 SKUs of toilet paper in one year. (They only have 32 properties!) With Brand Standards, there's no more guessing for on property teams which product is the "right" one. Buyers can just look for the products with a radiant check mark! These products automatically pop to the top of search results, for easier discovery. And if you pull up the wrong item when there's a Brand Standard alternative, Folio helps guide them to the correct item. How does it work? Property admins in Folio can convert any Order Guide into a Brand Standard. Then, all the products in that guide automatically get the Brand Standard "check" in the catalog. The result? * More convenient than ever for on-property teams to buy the right products * Managers can more easily publish and manage brand guides across properties * Owners benefit from reduced fees from franchise audits gone wrong, or wasted spend from mistakes * Guests benefit from more consistent experiences, as they come to expect from the brand Happy, smarter shopping!

Looking for a bill? Check your Files!

Looking for a bill? Check your Files! Jul 24, 2026. Today Folio announce Files, an inbox that gives you visibility into every bill and document that Folio receives for your property. As you can imagine, Folio receives a lot of documents! Each day bills, packing slips, inventory sheets, receipts, and catalog information are emailed, scanned, texted and uploaded. Then, Folio processes them. These documents get transcribed, categorized, matched to the correct property, order or transaction, and much more! Folio kept a lot of that magic behind the scenes so you have a clean queue of actions to take in Folio. But now, with Files, there's a place you can see the Folio process in action and, if needed, take action. For example, if an invoice appears delayed, it may have been classified as a duplicate and discarded by Folio. With Files, you can find it and hit Convert to create a bill. Files is another example of Folio's commitment to providing more visibility and control to its users. So work becomes easier. Folio welcome your feedback and suggestions, as always. Folio is here to serve you!

Folio expands hospitality payment suite with launch of new expense product at HITEC 2026.

Folio expands hospitality payment suite with launch of new expense product at HITEC 2026. Hospitality's first integrated expense solution gives hotel operators greater visibility and control over operational spend. Summary. Folio launches the hospitality industry's first fully embedded expense management system integrated within its hotel procurement and bill payment platform, allowing property managers to oversee off-contract operational spending. The system centralizes every purchase in a unified budget and offers auto-coded transactions plus multi-entity accounting to reduce manual reconciliation and enhance real-time visibility. Hospitality's first integrated expense solution gives hotel operators greater visibility and control over operational spend. DURHAM, N.C. - June 11, 2026 - Folio, the financial operations and procurement platform purpose-built for hospitality operators, today announced Folio Expense, the hospitality industry's first fully-embedded expense management system that is directly integrated into a hotel procurement and bill payment platform. The new solution will be unveiled at Booth # 751 during the 2026 Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC), taking place June 15-18 in San Antonio. Built specifically for hospitality operations, Folio Expense offers property managers control and visibility for purchases that may be necessary outside negotiated contracts and traditional procurement workflows. These purchases may include last-minute runs for supplies, paying for services rendered on-site, or procuring a gift for a guest. Unlike traditional expense tools that operate separately from procurement systems, Folio Expense offers on-property teams a centralized place to buy anything they may need to operate the property within management's highly customizable guardrails. It also connects every expense to a centralized budget, including all orders, inventory counts, invoices, transaction approvals and payments, within a single platform. "Hospitality operators work incredibly hard to manage costs through negotiated contracts and approved vendors, but there will always be operational expenses on the ground," said Kate Adamson, CEO and co-founder of Folio. "Purchases made on personal cards are not only inconvenient for employees, but they also create extra work for finance teams: reconciliation, invoicing other properties from shared expenses, limited visibility and fragmented reporting. Folio Expense brings those purchases and approvals into one managed system that helps guide smarter buying outcomes overall." Folio currently helps hospitality teams streamline buying, bill processing and payments, while optimizing spend through GPO and approved vendor programs. However, operators still face significant unmanaged expenses outside of those channels. Many of those purchases are made using personal credit cards, disconnected expense platforms, or manual reimbursement processes. Now, hotel management companies can buy and pay for whatever they need, from one platform. Folio Expense is purpose-built for property managers, with key features designed to support the real-world needs of multi-entity operations. These include: * Auto-code: Cards can be linked to specific departments for automated accounting as purchases are made * Faster financials: Account for expenses immediately, through the same approval processes as all other purchases * Multi-entity accounting: Split expenses between multiple properties, with auto-transfers * Detailed controls: Issue dedicated cards for specific budgets or roles for immediate use, with clear pending limits and category controls * Handle reimbursements: Auto-transcribe, auto-reconcile, and auto-code receipts with built-in AI * Comprehensive visibility: Manage payments alongside all other Folio orders and invoices * Earn rewards: Retain even more rewards on operational spend "Because the cards are fully integrated into the Folio platform, operators manage both negotiated purchasing and petty cash spend in one place. For managers, if spending is not managed centrally, it cannot be optimized. With Folio Expense, they can eliminate disconnected systems and reduce manual reconciliation, while gaining more rebates, tighter controls, more real-time visibility, and a simpler way to manage every dollar spent," added Adamson. "But we are not just solving a problem for managers. Folio Expense makes the lives of on-property teams easier through real-time checkbook availability, faster financial reporting, and less receipt chasing." Folio will showcase Folio Expense at Booth #751 during HITEC 2026, where attendees can see a live demo of more optimized spending. For more information, please visit folio.co.

New Lightning Automation with Vesta Foodservice.

New Lightning Automation with Vesta Foodservice. May 14, 2026. This week, Folio is proud to announce another Lightning Automation for better buying. Vesta Foodservice is now live! If you are already buying from them on Folio, you are automatically benefiting from the upgrade. As a reminder, Folio's Lightning Automations are its best-in-class supplier connection. Folio's supplier agents mirror their website, so you can discover and shop their products in a unified place on Folio. It means you see real-time: * Pricing * Stock levels * Product details In building this automation, Folio learned that Vesta is the Roman goddess that represents the eternal flame used in kitchens to transform simple ingredients into amazing meals. Pretty awesome name for this awesome produce supplier. Pleased to be offering you best-in-class buying experiences Other highlights across the Folio suite this week: * Buy: Smarter order minimums. If an order is below a supplier's minimum, Folio will now block checkout when the supplier requires it, and give your team a clear warning (with a confirmation step) when the minimum is a soft one. * Pay: Filter Ready to Pay by due date. When you're working through bills that need paying, you can now narrow the list by when they're actually due, so you can prioritize what's coming up first instead of scrolling through everything. * Bills: Pick the right remit-to address. For properties on Workday or HIA, you can now choose which of a supplier's remit addresses a bill should be paid to, right from the bill itself.
