Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or as a Commis Chef seeking progression in events, hotels, or high-end restaurants.
  • Ability to mentor a team.
  • Ability to demonstrate an excellent understanding of health and safety practices.
  • Ability to develop innovative and inspiring culinary ideas for events and dining menus.
Responsibilities
  • Support the senior kitchen team in the day-to-day running of the operation.
  • Provide food and service to a consistently high standard, including assisting senior chefs with functions in other areas of the business.
  • Support the team by training and mentoring Commis Chefs and Kitchen Porters.
  • Liaise with key people in the team to plan food provision across all kitchen areas.
  • Ensure the smooth running of daily operations, including preventing disruption to the pre-agreed menu offer.
  • Manage stock levels for the assigned area, including ordering when required and controlling waste.
  • Ensure food presentation is consistent with the standards set by senior chefs.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative and government guidelines, including the Food Safety Act, Health and Safety at Work Act, and COSHH regulations, within the areas of responsibility.
  • Cover occasional early breakfast shifts when required.
  • Perform other reasonable duties requested by senior management.
