Requirements
  • An active and current TS/SCI clearance with a full-scope polygraph through Maryland is required.
  • Ten years of experience in User Experience Design is required.
  • Five years of experience within the last ten years leading project life-cycle design is required.
  • Hands-on experience conducting usability testing, interviews, and/or contextual inquiry directly with end users is required.
  • Candidates must be comfortable assisting research sessions alongside a UX lead.
  • Working knowledge of qualitative discovery methods, including usability testing and contextual inquiry, and quantitative data collection methods, including surveys, analytics review, A/B testing, card sorting, tree testing, and session observation, is required.
  • Strong note-taking and data organization skills are required to capture and structure raw findings accurately for leadership synthesis and analysis.
  • Reliable, detail-oriented execution of research protocols with minimal need for independent research strategy or stakeholder presentation is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required; four years of additional User Experience Design experience on projects with similar design may substitute for the degree.
Responsibilities
  • Lead planning, design, and development activities to create user experiences for devices, tools, and systems.
  • Establish interactive conventions, assist in gathering user requirements, mock up user experiences, participate in trade-off discussions with development teams and subject matter experts, analyze tool sets, create screen mock-ups, and help customers imagine new interactive techniques and technologies.
  • Apply visualization and screen design expertise to create successful user experiences.
  • Support the UX lead by conducting user research sessions, including interviews, usability tests, and contextual inquiries, to collect behavioral and attitudinal data.
  • Execute discussion guides, screeners, and research protocols defined by the UX lead.
  • Observe and document user behaviors, pain points, and patterns during research sessions, distinguishing what users say from what they do or need.
  • Administer quantitative data collection methods, including surveys, card sorting, and tree testing, in support of research plans set by the UX lead.
  • Compile and organize raw research data, including notes and session artifacts, into clean, structured formats for UX lead synthesis.
  • Operate in an agile development environment and deliver User Experience feedback weekly.
  • Conduct User Experience research and optimization.
  • Create final visual designs, storyboards, interaction flows, and interface guidelines.
  • Apply a user-centered approach to craft design solutions that meet user needs and product strategy requirements.
  • Work with Product Owners to rapidly prototype and iterate on multiple design solutions.
  • Review final implementation with front-end developers to ensure design standards are followed.
  • Work across teams and communicate with stakeholders within various customer bases to provide inspiration and constructive feedback to other Designers.
  • Lead project life-cycle design, including interviewing customers, articulating customer requirements to the design team, creating visual designs and prototypes, presenting information to customers, and helping solve and clarify questions and problems.
  • Manage several diverse engineering teams in conducting User Experience research and optimization.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience independently running research studies end to end, including objective-setting, study design, execution, and synthesis, is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods, including usability testing, contextual inquiry, surveys, analytics review, A/B testing, card sorting, tree testing, and session observation, is a plus.
  • Comfort operating with ambiguous, evolving requirements typical of mission and individual-contributor environments and defining research questions when none are provided is a plus.

Paul Dillahay is a senior executive at DigitalNet.ai, the new artificial intelligence company founded by serial entrepreneur Ken Bajaj that Lentech is also partnering with. Lentech has appointed President Gregg Einfalt to the chief executive post on an interim basis following the planned departure of Paul Dillahay, who led the company as CEO since January. Einfalt will also work with the employee-owned company's board of directors to assess candidates for the permanent CEO role, Lentech said Wednesday. Dillahay is a senior executive at DigitalNet.ai, the new artificial intelligence company founded by serial entrepreneur Ken Bajaj. DigitalNet.ai formed through a combination of three other businesses including Harmonic AI, which Dillahay founded in 2024 and subsequently led as CEO.
