Knowledge of engineering designs, drawings, and specifications prepared for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) mechanical systems.
Knowledge of principles of Commercial Building HVAC/R systems to include
Installation, Service, Troubleshooting and Repairs on Chillers, Cooling Towers, VFD's, Air Handling Units, Direct Digital Controls, Package Units, Split Systems, Boilers, Pumps, Exhaust Fans, Refrigerators, Freezers, etc.
Knowledge and ability to analyze technical needs and determine the most efficient, cost-effective repair to chillers, VFDs, Air Handling Units, controls, and package units split system, exhaust fans, etc.
Demonstrated knowledge of participate in functional testing, commissioning and re-commissioning of equipment of HVAC equipment to close out construction projects, troubleshooting existing HVAC equipment, overseeing maintenance operations, reviewing HVAC equipment submittals, and assisting construction managers and engineers during the design, solicitation, and construction administrative phases of projects.
Skill in the troubleshooting and repair of HVAC systems and Direct Digital Controls (DDC).
Ability to perform inspection of existing HVAC systems and identify trouble areas/issues.
Ability to manage multiple projects and perform review and acceptance/commissioning of new HVAC system installations in compliance with codes and standards.
Ability to clearly communicate with technical and administrative personnel.
Ability to use computers and application software, including specific Siemens DDC EMCS reporting application.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access)

Responsibilities
Participate in functional testing, commissioning and re-commissioning of equipment of HVAC equipment to close out construction projects, troubleshooting existing HVAC equipment, overseeing maintenance operations, reviewing HVAC equipment submittals, and assisting construction managers and engineers during the design, solicitation, and construction administrative phases of projects.
Conduct site visits, perform project evaluations, document existing conditions, and propose cost effective solutions to existing HVAC problems. The MET shall have experience with navigating and utilizing a DDC controls system.
Perform daily site visits and provide quality assurance thorough inspections. Document findings that are not in accordance with the contract requirements.
Gather data and use analysis techniques to identify, consider, and resolve issues or problems. Identify and make recommendations to solve minor problems in the field that arise during construction.
Coordinate with construction managers, facilities managers, customers, and contractors. Participate in assigned project meetings, depending on the nature and scope of the construction contract. Maintain effective relationships with team members and follow processes to ensure a product is provided on schedule and within cost.
Use Government furnished electronic systems, tools, databases, and applications to manage project documentation and records before, during, and after project closeout or completion.
