Reporting to the Managing Director, Foreign Exchange, the Associate Portfolio Manager, Total Portfolio and Capital Markets, will be primarily responsible for (a) achieving best execution in foreign exchange trading, (b) supporting the design and implementation of FX hedging strategies and (c) developing analytical tools and models to support the management of IMCO’s FX execution and hedging initiatives.
As a Member of Our Team, You Will be Responsible For:
Execute FX trades across spot, forwards, swaps, and futures, ensuring best execution and adherence to IMCO’s trading protocols
Maintain strong and professional relationships with external trading counterparties
Stay abreast of market structure developments and regulatory changes in global FX markets
Support FX hedging strategy design and execution, including the development of analytical tools and models that enhance exposure measurement and reporting accuracy and timeliness
Collaborate with external FX management partners on a variety of FX management initiatives and maintain collaborative, high-trust relationships.
Provide FX market/macro insights to IMCO’s investment teams as required
Work closely with other members of IMCO’s Total Portfolio and Capital Markets team and centralized trading desk
Collaborate with Investment Operations and Information Technology, as well as other internal stakeholders, on trading-related initiatives
Ensure internal stakeholders are informed and engaged on FX transactions and related activities
What do you need to succeed?
Minimum of 5 years of experience in an FX trading role, with a strong working knowledge of money market principles, including interest rate dynamics and liquidity management
Bachelor or Master’s degree in a STEM discipline (e.g., Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Actuarial Science)
CFA designation or progress toward it is an asset
Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python, MATLAB, Excel VBA, and SQL
Hands-on experience with Bloomberg AIM and other order/execution management systems (OMS/EMS)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams
Strong ethical judgment and a proactive commitment to compliance with regulatory standards
