Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance, Real Estate, Urban Planning, or a related field is required; a master's degree is desirable.
  • Experience in Low-Income Housing Tax Credit development and/or Low-Income Housing Tax Credit finance is required.
  • Strong financial, analytical, relationship management, and writing skills are required; a writing and/or financial modeling sample may be required.
  • Advanced proficiency using Excel is required.
  • The ability to maintain a broad perspective while attending to detailed work and providing thorough documentation is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work productively and accurately in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and stringent deadlines is required.
  • The ability to work independently and remain highly motivated is required.
  • The incumbent is expected to work as an effective, collaborative team member.
  • The ability to work evening and weekend hours during peak periods is required.
  • The ability to travel by flights up to six hours, automobile, or train is required.
  • The ability to climb stairs at offsite project sites is required.
  • When visiting project sites, the incumbent may be exposed to outdoor weather, dirt, dust, and other construction-site conditions.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze affordable multifamily development opportunities financed with the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit.
  • Prepare high-quality, investment-grade financial models to evaluate potential investments.
  • Draft Preliminary Investment Reviews that provide detailed information on proposed investments.
  • Prepare submissions to the LIHTC Deal Screening Committee.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with affordable-housing developers.
  • Manage deal assignments and complete work in a timely manner to support the broader team's origination efforts.
  • Use Salesforce to facilitate internal communication and track key dates and project progress.
  • Address non-critical business issues on behalf of Originators.
  • Take on special projects for the acquisitions team as assigned.

Taking On Bilt, Stake Aims To Expand Its Cash-Back Rewards Program For Renters

Aiming to compete with Bilt in the nascent property renter rewards market, Stake, a startup that provides cash back and banking services to renters, today announced that it raised $12 million in a Series A round led by RET Ventures’ new RET Ventures ESG Fund. Enterprise Community Partners, Hometeam Ventures, Operator Stack, Shadow Ventures, Olive Tree Ventures and Second Century Ventures, the investment arm of the National Association of Realtors, also participated, bringing Stake’s total raised to $17.9 million. Co-founder and CEO Rowland Hobbs says the new capital will be put toward expanding the platform and increasing Stake’s workforce from 17 employees to 23 by the end of the year
