Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge and skills.
  • Three to five years of related experience.
  • Knowledge and experience collaborating with volunteer committees.
  • Knowledge and experience in alumni engagement or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar systems, database systems such as Advance, Raiser’s Edge, and Ascend, Zoom, and Qualtrics.
  • Availability for evening and weekend work as required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive support for the Tufts Alumni Council and its committees.
  • Support Senior Connection and the alumni-led Foster Children’s Committee, including organizing the annual Back-to-School Picnic and Holiday Party.
  • Oversee the creation and distribution of the Alumni Volunteer Newsletter.
  • Coordinate the planning and execution of Jumbo Alumni Service Month.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to Tufts Alumni Council committees and train committee chairs to schedule and run Zoom meetings and share minutes.
  • Maintain Tufts Alumni Council records in appropriate Box folders.
  • Organize and implement twice-annual Tufts Alumni Council meetings.
  • Organize and implement annual elections of Alumni Trustees, Alumni Council members, and executive officers.
  • Facilitate the work of the Alumni Association Nominating Committee in candidate selection.
  • Collaborate with election nominees throughout the process to provide information and procure biographies, photos, and other information for the election.
  • Oversee the Alumni Association’s Senior Awards and Alumni Awards events.
  • Coordinate with the Tufts Alumni Council Awards Committee on selection processes and event design.
  • Manage all aspects of the alumni recognition events, virtually and/or in person, coordinating with internal partners as necessary.
  • Develop and implement a university-wide volunteer e-newsletter by collecting and curating volunteer stories, writing and editing content, and coordinating distribution.
  • Partner with the Program Coordinator to maintain and update volunteer leadership information, volunteer opportunity outreach and materials, the volunteer toolkit, and chapter/affinity-based chair-term documentation on Alumni and Friends and related communication platforms.
  • Organize and implement programming for Senior Connection, an alumni affinity-based group.
  • Collaborate with the alumni-led Foster Children’s Committee to organize the annual summer Back-to-School Picnic and Holiday Party.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director to organize and implement annual Jumbo Alumni Service Month.
  • Participate in other special projects or events as assigned.

  • Strong professional, interpersonal, team, and leadership skills, with tact and flexibility when working with a diverse range of alumni.
