Your Role on the DevOps Team

As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will work on our mission to build and maintain a smooth, secure, and consistent process for moving code into a globally-scalable, stable, efficient, predictable, secure production environment. We’ll rely on your experience with a broad range of technologies to help drive improvements to our platform and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Defining, leading, and managing initiatives to evolve existing AWS infrastructure implementations in a collaborative manor with team members
• Administering, configuring, monitoring and supporting our production infrastructure including being part of an on-call rotation.
• Evolving and optimizing continuous delivery pipelines in collaboration with our development teams
• Providing tools and an environment to enable seamless, secure, software development

Experience and Qualifications that will make you successful:

• Hands on experience, in a lead capacity, architecting, implementing, and then managing container management platforms from the ground up in one of the major cloud platforms for a high volume SaaS product (AWS preferred) 
• Expert knowledge of Linux, the Linux kernel, various shells, distributions, and scripting
• Expert knowledge of networking, including container networking patterns such as overlays, service meshes, etc
• Expert knowledge of container management systems (Kubernetes, Nomad, ECS)
• 8+ years of experience developing and deploying/managing immutable infrastructure using Packer and Terraform through a CI/CD pipeline
• Experience and deep knowledge of infrastructure based microservice patterns such as service discovery, circuit breakers, health checks, rate limiting, side cars, microservice chassis 
• 8+ years experience with deploying , configuring , and managing cloud based observability platforms (Datadog preferred
• 5+ years experience developing solutions in Python and/or Golang
• 5+ years experience developing CI/CD pipelines using build automation tools such as Gitlab (preferred), Github Actions, etc
• In depth knowledge of security best practices and their application in a cloud environment
• 4+ Experience with working in Agile development and delivery including daily standups, and other bi-weekly sprint ceremonies

Nice to Haves:

• Experience with a variety of database systems including MySQL, Postrgres, etc..
• Hands on experience deploying and managing serverless architectures
• Hands on experience with Elasticsearch
• Hands on experience with Kafka
