- Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
- Meet all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Baptist Health/Orlando Health and the unit or department.
- Maintain a current State of Alabama Registered Nurse license or valid enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact multistate Registered Nurse license.
- Maintain current Basic Life Support/Healthcare Provider certification.
- Have one year of experience, unless approved by an Assistant Vice President level or above.
- Hold Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Program, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, or Trauma Nursing Core Course certification when required for the applicable area.
- Hold Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
- Deliver care for high-acuity patients by performing complex assessments and rapid clinical interventions.
- Anticipate and respond to changing patient conditions using data-driven, evidence-based judgment.
- Operate and interpret advanced monitoring equipment, including intracranial pressure, central venous pressure, pulmonary artery pressures, cardiac monitors, and ventilators.
- Recognize critical changes, initiate emergency actions, and promptly notify physicians.
- Develop, update, and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Advocate for patients and families while providing culturally sensitive, age-appropriate care.
- Serve as a preceptor, charge nurse, educator, or clinical resource as needed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support effective unit function.
- Coordinate and delegate patient care appropriately.
- Document assessments, treatments, medications, and education accurately and according to regulatory standards.
- Demonstrate competency in required nursing skills and equipment.
- Prioritize care, resolve problems, and communicate essential patient information clearly.
- Support onboarding of new staff and students.
- Maintain compliance with attendance and organizational policies.
