The Job:
As a Continuous Improvement Engineer Lead, you’ll be part of our Industrial team working as an on-site employee. You’ll get to:
- Build project deck to address outcomes of site diagnostics that align with business strategy and develop plans to execute and deliver.
- Ability to engage operations and functional leaders in meaningful reviews of operational KPI’s to determine appropriate responses to close gaps
- Lead Kaizen bursts to solve complex operations problems and improvements.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineers in project deployment and develop their skills and capabilities
- Lead stakeholders to align on goals and targets (operationally and financially) and quantification of benefits
- Report on progress of projects, understanding the risks, dependencies, budgets, resourcing, issues, critical milestones and forthcoming pipeline, and actions necessary to ensure success
- Identify operational improvement opportunities as part of the ongoing Continuous Improvement cycle
- Develop deep understanding of the regional plants manufacturing processes and the overall operations and supply-chain.
- Lead the creation and implementation of best practice Lean vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve the plants overall operational performance.
- Develop and execute a robust continuous improvement program in partnership with the management team and key business stakeholders, including working with external resources per need, etc.
- Provide project management, analytical and research skills and expertise.
- Co-Leading and leveraging the deployment of new technologies such as digital manufacturing and IT, data-analytics and automation, and other I4.0 tools with synergy to the overall plants Lean system.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, savings and waste reduction based on field observations, analysis of data from various sources and systems, and optimization models to: streamlining material flow, optimize plants & production cells layout, enhance machines & equipment efficiency (OEE), improve labor productivity, quality and yield, waste & scraps reduction, and more.
- Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency, and such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment and purchase of equipment / systems.
- Design and lead the Implementation of Lean standard tools and concepts within the production floor and operations such as 5S, Visual-Management, Standard Work, Kaizen events program, SMED, Flow, Poka-Yoke, PDCA, etc.
- Produce written reports, prepare presentations and training materials, and generate standard documentation to support the Lean system.
- Ensure relevant on-going learning and development of all employees in lean improvement tools and identifying improvement opportunities
- Support the development and preparation of formal Capital Expenditure Requests
- Ensure operating in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors
The Person:

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, with 5+ years
- Experience leading technical team of Engineers or similar in continuous improvement
- Manufacturing experience to include line responsibility and experience with the main manufacturing functions: production, maintenance, quality, production engineering, internal logistics, and launch (NPI)
- Operations leadership experience a plus
- Understanding of Lean / CI methodologies with implementation experience in operations
- Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement certification
