Acting as the bridge between competitive intelligence and the field the Principal Competitive Strategist equips the sales and partner teams with the necessary tools, thought leadership and technical competitive insights to win more deals against the competition. They are leaders in vendor specific war-rooms and are the lead architects for key strategic deals bridging requirements to technical solutions. They also play a public-facing role, contributing to thought leadership and media interactions.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the competitive intelligence team to translate insights into actionable sales strategies.
Design and deliver sales training programs focused on competitive positioning.
Engage directly in named competitive sales campaigns, providing on-the-ground support.
Analyze and dissect specific competitive accounts targets and leading the development of a technical win strategy including collaborating with the account team and the partner to execute it successfully

Qualifications:

5-10 years of Direct field experience in a deep technical role (i.e. Principal SE)
Strong and deep technical experience with competitive storage products and solutions as well as the Pure Portfolio
Strong experience in business strategy providing linkage between corporate objectives and technical architectures to support them
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a flair for public speaking.

The annual base salary range is: $$179,000 - $286,000. Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. You will be based in Santa Clara, CA. As this is an office-centric role, you are expected to be present in the office for 4 days a week. As outlined in Pure’s Hybrid Work Policy, there will be variations over periods of time, depending on business need. Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations. This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
