Requirements
  • Proven experience leading lifecycle marketing or customer relationship management strategy within a digital consumer business.
  • Deep expertise with modern customer relationship management and marketing automation platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze, XtremePush, or Iterable.
  • Strong expertise in customer segmentation, personalization, and designing end-to-end lifecycle journeys.
  • Experience using data, experimentation, and analytics to optimize customer engagement and commercial outcomes.
  • A track record of influencing cross-functional stakeholders and translating business goals into customer-focused lifecycle strategies.
  • Experience building or scaling customer relationship management programs within a fast-paced, high-growth digital business.
Responsibilities
  • Own and evolve the lifecycle marketing strategy across the portfolio of sports brands to drive long-term customer growth.
  • Lead initiatives that grow membership and optimize acquisition, activation, and conversion throughout the customer journey.
  • Design and optimize automated customer journeys using segmentation, personalization, and experimentation to increase engagement, retention, and lifetime value.
  • Define the customer relationship management roadmap, influence platform capabilities, and position customer relationship management as a key driver of commercial growth.
  • Partner with Product, Content, Data, and Marketing to deliver seamless customer experiences that support business objectives.
  • Lead and develop the customer relationship management team, establish best practices, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

This strategic move is anticipated to immediately improve Genius Sports' Group Adjusted EBITDA margins and free cash flow conversion. The acquisition aims to maintain a minimum of 20% group revenue CAGR through 2028, positioning Genius Sports to achieve around $1.1bn in group revenue and $320-330m in group adjusted EBITDA by 2026. Legend operates a scaled media network that monetizes sports audiences using marketing technology and syndicates sports and betting content across well-known publications such as Sports Illustrated and Yahoo Sports. The network's technology connects sports fans with relevant sportsbooks and gaming products, capturing their attention during crucial moments of engagement. In 2025, Legend reported 320m annual visits from 118m unique visitors, with a significant portion of them returning regularly. The acquisition will integrate this large and engaged audience into Genius Sports' media ecosystem, providing predictable revenue streams. Macfarlanes LLP and Kirkland & Ellis LLP are serving as legal counsel to Genius Sports. Oakvale Capital LLP and The Raine Group are serving as financial advisors to Legend. Latham & Watkins LLP and Herzog Fox & Neeman are serving as legal counsel to Legend.
