Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of studies in a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
  • Must have current work authorization and be legally authorized to work in Canada. Medtronic Montreal does not provide work authorization sponsorship for intern positions.
  • Participants must be able to participate full time (40 hours/week) starting in January 2025.
  • Minimum of a 3.0 out of 4.0 cumulative GPA
  • Relevant academic project and/or internship experience
  • Prior work on projects in a team environment
  • Leadership experience in student groups, volunteer experience, and related extracurriculars.
Responsibilities
  • assist the deployment of the Maintenance Excellence (MEx) program throughout the Pointe Claire manufacturing site.
  • responsible for developing and executing our site’s MEx operator driven reliability strategy.
  • support the establishment and reporting of MEx Key Performance Index (KPI), such as downtime and maintenance cost.
  • assist the improvement of the maintenance department spare parts management.
  • focus on improving key equipment knowledge within operations.
  • become an expert on those key equipment, make improvement proposals and work with the engineering and operation team to reduce equipment breakdowns and improve equipment efficiency.
  • build a solid understanding of the manufacturing process and the tier system that supports it.
  • use programming, data analysis and automated reporting skills.
