A Day in the Life

Le stagiaire en ingénierie de maintenance contribuera au déploiement du programme d’excellence en maintenance (MEx) dans l’ensemble du site de fabrication de Pointe-Claire. Dans le cadre de son rôle, il sera responsable du développement et de l’exécution de la stratégie de fiabilité axée sur l’opérateur. Il soutiendra également l’établissement et la communication des indices clés de performance (KPI) MEx, tels que les coûts de maintenance et les bris d’équipement. Il contribuera également à l’amélioration de la gestion des pièces de rechange du département de maintenance.

Les prochaines étapes du déploiement de MEx se concentreront sur l’amélioration de la connaissance des équipements clés au sein des opérations. En plus de devenir un expert de ces équipements clés, le stagiaire fera des propositions d’amélioration et travaillera avec l’équipe d’ingénierie et de production pour réduire les pannes et améliorer l’efficacité des équipements. L’établissement des deux KPI de maintenance exigera du stagiaire qu’il acquière une solide compréhension des processus de fabrication et du système de gestion qui les soutiennent. Il devra également mettre à profit ses compétences en matière de programmation, d’analyse des données et d’automatisation de rapports.

Ce stage est une excellente occasion de développer ses compétences en ingénierie de la fiabilité et d’acquérir une expérience pratique avec différents types d’équipements de fabrication dans le domaine médical.

Il s’agit d’un poste rémunéré, à temps plein (40 heures/semaine) et en présentiel, d’une durée minimale de 16 semaines.

Exigences minimales :

Pour être pris en considération pour le stage, vous devez répondre aux exigences de base suivantes.

• Au moins deux ans d’études en vue de l’obtention d’une licence en génie biomédical, en génie électrique, en génie mécanique ou dans un domaine similaire.

• Vous devez posséder un permis de travail valide et être légalement autorisé à travailler au Canada. Medtronic Montréal n’offre pas de parrainage pour l’obtention d’un permis de travail pour les postes de stagiaires.

• Les participants doivent être en mesure de travailler à temps plein (40 heures/semaine) à partir de janvier 2025.

Exigences utiles à avoir :

• Moyenne pondérée cumulative d’au moins 3.0 sur 4.0
• Expérience pertinente en matière de projets universitaires et/ou de stages

• Avoir déjà travaillé sur des projets dans un environnement d’équipe

• Expérience de leadership dans des groupes d’étudiants, expérience de bénévolat et activités extrascolaires connexes.

The Maintenance Engineering Intern will assist the deployment of the Maintenance Excellence (MEx) program throughout the Pointe Claire manufacturing site. As part of their role, they will be responsible for developing and executing our site’s MEx operator driven reliability strategy. They will also support the establishment and reporting of MEx Key Performance Index (KPI), such as downtime and maintenance cost. They will also assist the improvement of the maintenance department spare parts management.

The next steps in MEx deployment will focus on improving key equipment knowledge within operations. On top of becoming an expert on those key equipment, the intern will make improvement proposal and work with the engineering and operation team to reduce equipment breakdowns and improve equipment efficiency. The establishment of the two maintenance KPI will require the intern to build a solid understanding of the manufacturing process and the tier system that supports it. It will also have them use their programming, data analysis and automated reporting skills.

This internship is a great opportunity to develop reliability engineering skills and getting hands on experience with different types of manufacturing equipment in the medical field.

This is an in person, full-time (40 hours/week), paid position that is minimum 16 weeks long.

Minimum Requirements:

To be considered for the internship, you must meet the following basic requirements.

• Minimum of 2 years of studies in a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar field.

• Must have current work authorization and be legally authorized to work in Canada. Medtronic Montreal does not provide work authorization sponsorship for intern positions.

• Participants must be able to participate full time (40 hours/week) starting in January 2025.

Nice to have:

• Minimum of a 3.0 out of 4.0 cumulative GPA
• Relevant academic project and/or internship experience

• Prior work on projects in a team environment

• Leadership experience in student groups, volunteer experience, and related extracurriculars
