Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field, with relevant education and experience substitutable as appropriate.
  • At least one year of experience developing and implementing collegiate athletic marketing programs.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in graphics software.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop various types of editorial content and craft marketing messages.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A class C operator's driver's license and a current three-year driving record from the current state of residence.
  • The selected applicant must obtain a Texas driver's license within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident if not currently a Texas resident.
Responsibilities
  • Develop tracking and implementation of ideas and strategies to sell tickets and engage fans, sponsors, and other target audiences for assigned sports.
  • Develop timely, consistent, collaborative, and comprehensive season-long, integrated, sport-specific plans covering ticket sales, sponsorship implementation, cross-promotion, messaging, and related strategic and tactical activities.
  • Identify opportunities for special events and manage outreach, event planning, and event promotion.
  • Execute plans and follow up to ensure effective and timely implementation.
  • Schedule regular information-sharing meetings, document and send post-meeting notes, and communicate plans with departmental staff, rights holders, and external entities.
  • Submit timely portal requests for digital assets and promotional materials associated with plans.
  • Conduct post-season evaluations and incorporate findings into the next season's plans.
  • Produce and direct live events and oversee day-to-day operations and planning for event presentation, including videoboard and camera staff, public address announcer, DJ, and scoreboard operators.
  • Direct and manage the creation and execution of game scripts designed to engage fans, fulfill sponsor obligations, and provide an entertaining environment.
  • Hire, direct, and manage game-day staff, vendors, and entertainment for home matches, games, and special events.
  • Act as sport liaison for assigned non-ticketed sports.
  • Develop promotional plans, including promotions, collateral materials, special events, and updated web copy, as dictated by the sport, program, or event.
  • Plan and execute post-mortems.
  • Provide secondary support on football game days and other assigned sports.
  • Drive a rental or University of Texas vehicle on and off campus as assigned.
  • Assist with obtaining bids for print and promotional purposes.
  • Write and proofread materials.
  • Comply with applicable University, NCAA, conference, state, and federal laws, policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Participate in assigned education and training programs and report required outside activities and violations as applicable.
Desired Qualifications
  • Two years of experience developing and implementing collegiate athletics marketing programs.
  • Experience working with baseball or soccer.
  • Experience marketing sports and developing and implementing sponsor-related promotional activities.
  • Experience directing, scripting, and developing public address announcements for sporting events.
  • Experience managing student workers at athletic events.
  • Experience working with a marketing rights holder.
  • Thorough knowledge of the ticket sales process.
