About the Role
We’re looking for a product designer to lead the Catalog team for Grocery & Retail at Uber Eats. Our Catalog products enable merchants and internal agents all around the globe to manage each store’s inventory of items so they can be sold and purchased on our marketplace. As a Design Lead, you will be responsible for leading large-scale strategic initiatives and managing a small team of Designers working on our Catalog tooling products.
What You Will Do
- Be the voice of the customer and champion solving user problems
- Be a strong partner to your Product, Engineering, Research, Data, and Business peers
- Set the bar high by knowing what quality looks like and how to help product teams ship at that quality with minimal impact on velocity
- Align team priorities and deliverables to the company’s overall strategic goals
- Influence product, shape strategy and direction for big company bets
- Break down large ambiguous problems into simple solutions and drive them from concept through completion
- Think systematically, to make experiences as scalable as they are elegant and delightful
- Encourage your team to push the boundaries towards innovation and user delight, while balancing business objectives
- Help designers develop a wide array of hard and soft skills based on their career goals and what the team needs
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of Product Design experience
- A portfolio showing your high-quality, thoughtful UI and UX work
- Proficiency with Figma or similar tools and prototyping methods
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a tech environment
- Shipped many successful software products, ideally both desktop and mobile
- Demonstrates long-term thinking around strategic and business-focused activities
- Highly proficient in storytelling, advocating for user needs, and articulating rationale for design work
- Experience contributing to design systems and implementing system components with engineers
- Proven track record of providing thought leadership and guiding a team towards a common goal
- Has led and mentored both junior and senior product designers
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year.
