Requirements
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering at a college or university, or pursuing a degree in a related field with relevance to Civil Engineering.
  • Have 0-2 years of experience in Civil Site Engineering, including residential and/or commercial, industrial, or office site design and permitting experience.
  • Have a valid driver's license, valid personal insurance, and a personal vehicle to travel to various sites during a given workday; mileage traveled for company business will be reimbursed.
  • Ability to maintain and operate a personal and/or company vehicle.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD for assisting in the production of site plan drawings.
  • General knowledge of hydraulic and stormwater design programs.
  • Design and drafting capabilities.
  • Grading and drainage design skills.
  • General knowledge of mapping websites for due diligence and site investigation purposes.
  • General knowledge of site engineering design tools, including Hydraflow, HydroCAD, PondPack, AutoCAD Civil 3D, StormCAD, Storm and Sanitary Analysis, HEC-RAS, gravity-flow hydraulic analysis, and Manning's Equation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
  • General knowledge of Bluebeam Revu and/or Adobe for preparing design document markups.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
  • Ability to think independently and critically.
  • Ability to work independently and with team members.
Responsibilities
  • Review municipal zoning and land development ordinances and applicable agency regulations to determine land development limitations for properties.
  • Prepare Site Investigation and Due Diligence Reports, including reviews of ordinances, utility service research, outside agency regulations, and site visits to establish comprehensive development guidelines.
  • Prepare conceptual site plans.
  • Prepare preliminary grading plans and designs.
  • Design stormwater management and stormwater conveyance systems, utility systems, and soil erosion and sediment control design plans.
  • Prepare technical reports, including drainage, sanitary sewer, and site investigation reports.
  • Prepare written correspondence for outside agencies, clients, attorneys, and contractors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
