Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in product management, engineering, sales, business development, or profit center (P&L) management, ideally in the rail industry or at an original equipment manufacturer (OEM).
  • Demonstrated experience developing product strategies, roadmaps, business cases, and lifecycle offerings.
  • Experience leading cross-functional work across Engineering, Operations, Sourcing, Finance, and Commercial teams.
  • Fluent English is required to communicate with colleagues, clients, partners, and suppliers.
Responsibilities
  • Define the aftermarket vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for assigned product lines based on market entitlement, fleet lifecycle, technology evolution, customer requirements, and competitive dynamics.
  • Define, develop, and rationalize a scalable portfolio of core products, parts, upgrades, and service solutions, including offering scope, target applications, configuration rules, value propositions, and lifecycle plans.
  • Own product-level business cases, target cost, margin architecture, lifecycle value, and investment recommendations.
  • Monitor orders, revenue, contribution margin, market share, and pipeline health by assigned product, and initiate corrective actions with Key Account Management, Business Development, and functional teams when targets deviate.
  • Identify product upgrade and evolution potential, cost-reduction opportunities, and technology investments for assigned products.
  • Lead cross-functional competitiveness improvements involving lifecycle cost, reliability, availability, maintainability, safety, engineering, manufacturing, methods, and quality.
  • Synthesize inputs from Key Account Management, Business Development, customer engagements, field performance, installed-base data, and market research.
  • Translate prioritized customer and market needs into clear product and service requirements with Product Engineering and other functions.
  • Drive lifecycle readiness for parts, tooling, documentation, repair capability, supplier strategy, training, warranty transition, fleet introduction, and long-term support.
  • Maintain product-specific market intelligence, fleet and installed-base visibility, competitor analysis, and technology trends, and convert insights into roadmap priorities and risks or opportunities.
  • Support Business Development and Key Account Management with product expertise, requirements interpretation, technical positioning, business-case inputs, and product risk assessment.
  • Support Commercial Operations with technical inputs needed to build and submit quality offers for products and services.
  • Ensure tenders and projects use approved standard offerings wherever practical.
  • Govern exceptions, product deviations, and roadmap commitments in coordination with Engineering, Operations, Sourcing, and Quality.
  • Communicate product vision, roadmap, and offer strategy to regional stakeholders.
  • Provide product knowledge, tools, and training that enable Key Account Management and Business Development teams to identify, position, and execute opportunities consistently.

Price-to-sales and price-to-operating-cash-flow multiples also exceed market averages at 3.7 and 22.3 respectively. Revenue has grown 10.2% annually over three years, outpacing the S&P 500's 5.9%. The 12-month backlog rose 11% whilst the multi-year backlog jumped 42%. Debt stands at a manageable 14.7% of market value. Operating cash flow reached approximately $2 billion over the past twelve months.

Forsee Power and Wabtec team up to electrify locomotives with advanced battery tech

Forsee Power, a smart battery systems specialist, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Wabtec to integrate advanced battery systems into battery-electric locomotive platforms. Wabtec, which unveiled the world's first battery-electric freight locomotive in 2021, will collaborate with Forsee Power to enhance performance and reliability whilst optimising costs. Forsee Power's PULSE PLUS RAIL battery system, built on Toshiba's latest-generation LTO cells, offers up to 20 years lifespan, high-power output and voltage range up to 1,500 VDC.
