Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, or equivalent experience
  • 4-6+ years of relevant tax experience in public accounting or a large corporation
  • Strong technical tax skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and accounting skills
  • Strong ledger and account reconciliation experience
  • Detail oriented and deadline driven
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work with little or no supervision
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Access and other Office Products
  • Must be able to communicate with all levels of employees and management
  • Must be able to meet internal and external deadlines
  • Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
Responsibilities
  • Lead accountant in all areas of sales and use tax
  • Review and prepare account reconciliations
  • General ledger analysis and preparation or review of journal entries
  • Perform queries and reports from SAP and Vertex
  • Review or prepare multi-state sales and use tax returns, including payment requests
  • Lead accountant on sales and use tax audits
  • Assist with providing documentation to independent auditors
  • Assist in gathering information, answering inquiries and working with outside consultants regarding sales and use tax
  • Communicate with Company operating units regarding sales/use tax accruals, payments and returns
  • Handle notices and communications from tax authorities
  • Perform research related to new tax laws and/or tax planning projects
  • Complete special tax projects assigned by tax leadership
  • Other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
  • Vertex and/or SAP experience a plus
  • CPA, CMI or other relevant certification a plus
