  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One to two years of experience in a health-related field is required.
  • Knowledge of EPIC and STAR is required.
  • Excellence in customer service, interview skills, and data accumulation skills is required.
  • Excellent computer, keyboard, and internet skills are required.
  • The ability to navigate efficiently from one software system to another is required.
  • The candidate must pass a keyboarding test and be able to type 35 words per minute.
Responsibilities
  • Register, admit, and schedule patients in the Hospital Information System while gathering complete data for timely reimbursement and accurate registrations.
  • Communicate hospital policies, procedures, and regulations to patients.
  • Prepare patient charts, accurately disposition records, and scan relevant paperwork according to hospital policy.
  • Collect insurance co-payments according to department policy.
  • Follow hospital and department policies and procedures, along with JCAHO and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Demonstrate and promote service excellence.
Desired Qualifications
  • Some college or equivalent education is desirable.
  • Previous registration experience, a medical insurance background, and medical terminology experience are preferred.
