Requirements
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Telecom Sales Engineering or Product Line Management
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
  • Fluent German and English language skills (min. level C1)
  • Strong pre-sales experience in L1-L3 Network Engineering
  • Expertise in IP/MPLS network protocols, including: OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS, Segment Routing, RSVP, LDP, Multicast protocols (IGMP, PIM), Multicast VPN (MVPN), SRv6
  • MEF Services, VPLS, VPWS, EVPN
  • Understanding of network services: L2VPN, L3VPN, EVPN
  • Industry networking certifications (e.g., Juniper, Cisco)
  • Ability to build strong relationships with partners/customers and communicate complex concepts effectively
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Permission to work in Germany or Switzerland. Must be able to pass standard EU security check for people working in critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Lead technical pre-sales activities including network design, architecture development, and delivery of high-quality technical solution offer
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in IP/MPLS, packet transport, and optical networking technologies
  • Provide regional pre-sales support for Ribbon's IP Optical product lines
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Chief Architect teams to align technical solutions with business strategies
  • Deliver technical presentations, coordinate lab trials and proofs of concept to validate Ribbon's technology offerings
  • Analyze the ability to meet the needs of potential customers and prepare technical solution descriptions as part of the sales process
  • Present and sell the proposed technological solutions to partners and customers with the assistance of the Sales Manager
  • Prepare technical response for Bids and Requests for Xs
  • Create and retain positive ongoing relationships with customers and partners

Ribbon and AWS launch cloud-native session control solution for telecom providers

Ribbon Communications has announced a strategic collaboration with Amazon Web Services to deliver a cloud-native session border controller and SIP routing solution on AWS Marketplace. The integrated platform uses AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service and provides lifecycle automation for telecommunications applications. The solution enables service providers and enterprises to deploy secure voice communications whilst reducing operational and capital costs. It's already in production with a Fortune 500 company and is used by Aircall to scale globally. The collaboration includes joint development programmes and combines Ribbon's telecommunications automation expertise with AWS's cloud services. Integration with Amazon Bedrock enables generative AI capabilities for intelligent network operations. The platform supports self-paced cloud migrations and integrates with existing workloads.

Ribbon Communications reports $845M 2025 revenue amid project delays, targets AI and defence expansion

Ribbon Communications reported fourth-quarter 2025 revenue of $227 million, down from $251 million in the prior-year period, as customer project delays and budget timing issues impacted results. Full-year revenue reached $845 million, up slightly from $834 million in 2024. The company recorded over $50 million in new voice modernisation bookings during the quarter, with US Tier 1 service provider sales rising over 25% for the year. CEO Bruce McClelland noted that delayed projects represent deployment schedule changes rather than lost business. For 2026, Ribbon projects revenue of $840 million to $875 million and adjusted EBITDA of $105 million to $120 million. A fourth-quarter tax benefit is expected to reduce future cash tax payments by $15 million to $20 million over several years. The company is targeting expansion in AI and defence markets.
