We are seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team, which is tasked to develop a world-class fully automated instrument system for high precision proteomic analysis. The individual should enjoy working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment, and be prepared to tackle a broad selection of challenges as the company grows.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Improve existing board designs to be more reliable, manufacturable, and serviceable.
- Prototype design solutions / concepts to prove design feasibility, functionality, and performance for next generation instruments or modules.
- Works with external partners and suppliers to prepare detailed design, prototype fabrication, design testing and verification.
- Perform testing and troubleshooting at the component, board, and system level.
- Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEAs)
- Document engineering designs and implementations.
- Support and maintain firmware (C/C++) code for existing products.
- Work independently and reach out to management when direction is needed.
Requirements include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- 6+ years of experience in PCB design and embedded firmware development.
- Proven experience with STM32 or similar ARM Cortex-M based microcontrollers.
- Knowledge of serial bus interfaces including I2C, SPI, UART
- Proficiency in using EDA tools (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCad) for PCB design.
- Strong background in embedded C/C++ programming and firmware development best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Self-motivation with a positive “can do” attitude and attention to details.
- This role is required to be onsite.
The base salary range for this full-time position is $150,000 - $170,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The ranges displayed on each job posting reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries but are subject to change if the leveling of the role is adjusted.
