Our client is seeking a Systems Engineer who has embraced Digital Engineering and applied it to support Air Force Acquisition Projects. The Systems Engineer will be the lead architect for the creation and implementation of a digital transformation plan for the customer, introducing model-based systems engineering principles and practices. This includes development of SysML-compliant government reference architecture, model-based technical data packages, PLM system implementation, and digital sustainment strategies. The candidate will play a vital role in the integration and utilization of cutting-edge digital technologies within the defense acquisition process.This position is instrumental in leveraging modern model-based systems engineering practices, data analytics, and digital tools to create system models and ensure requirements’ traceability in a complex and evolving system. The candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders, including program managers, engineers, data analysts, and procurement specialists, to ensure the successful delivery of advanced defense systems and technologies.
The proposed salary range for this position is $156,000 - $231,000. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications. KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance and SAP eligible
- Education and Years of Experience: Master’s Degree with 15 years DoD or related industry work experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree with an additional 3-5 years of experience totaling in 18-20 years of experience.No less than five (5) total years of experience in an SAP and/or SCI environment, with at least one (1) year of that total being within the past 5 years.(Degree must be in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or other related Engineering Discipline)
- Extensive working knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles
- Extensive working knowledge of SysML or UML and Government Reference/Open Systems architecture
- Extensive experience creating system models using Cameo Enterprise Architect or similar tools
- Extensive experience in System Program Office systems engineering concepts and practical applications
- Familiarization with the Air Force strategies in modeling, simulation and analysis
- Highly motivated and innovative thinker capable of working with minimal oversight to achieve given objectives
- Excellent oral and written communication skill sets
PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or other related Engineering Discipline.
- Familiarity with Agile development practices
- Experience identifying areas of inefficiency or bottlenecks within the acquisition process and creating digital solutions to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and enhance program outcomes
- Knowledge of defense acquisition processes and regulations, including the Defense Acquisition System and the DoD 5000 series instructions
- Knowledge and experience in aeronautical design, analysis, systems engineering, and/or software integration
- Ability to articulate lessons learned from previous System Acquisition phases in order to refine and optimize for the current/new program
- Working knowledge of a product lifecycle management (PLM) or product data management (PDM) system implementation (Siemens Teamcenter preferred)
- Understanding of Air Force Configuration Control requirements and CM2 Configuration Control best practices
- Experience preparing/reviewing technical documents for Configuration Control Boards
- Working knowledge of Siemens NX, Creo or SolidWorks and understanding of model-based technical data package creation and management
- Experience in performing simulations using Cameo Simulation Toolkit or similar tools
