  • Must be a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist with ability to perform technical procedures and assist in clinical evaluation and care of patients.
Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI exams on trauma, emergency room, outpatients, inpatients (including ICU), research patients, and those requiring specialized MRI-guided procedures.
  • Maintain competent imaging skills in practicing modality and stay updated with technology changes; support teaching and continue learning.
  • Comply with hospital/department policies and New York state and accrediting agencies' standards.
  • Assist physicians in all aspects of procedures in their assigned area.
  • Provide a safe positive experience for patients.
  • On-call responsibility, if applicable.
  • Rotate through Main Department and all satellite areas.
  • Act as mentor and preceptor to new staff and students.
  • Support AMCH and the imaging department in maintaining accreditations.
  • Enter patient data into computer systems accurately; QA images and patient information prior to sending to PACS.
  • Demonstrate knowledge to provide patient care appropriate to age/special characteristics of patients.
  • Obtain peripheral IV access and inject contrast material where required.
  • Maintain stock supply and linen in exam room; perform light housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Comply with Patient Bill of Rights and HIPAA; integrate into practice.
  • Participate in development and attainment of unit/department/divisional goals.
  • Demonstrate commitment to unit and HR policies.
  • Understand mission/vision/values/strategic direction of the institution.
  • Maintain professional relationships with healthcare team, patients, and families.
  • Practice problem solving and resolution; support Joint Commission standards.
  • Pursue validation of knowledge base, skill level, and decision making; seek guidance when needed.
  • Complete hospital and departmental required education.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
