Requirements
  • A PharmD or BS in Pharmacy is required.
  • An active pharmacist license in good standing is required, with eligibility to serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge in Florida through a Florida license or ability to obtain one.
  • Typically, at least 2 years of experience with sterile compounding and aseptic processing is required.
  • Working knowledge of USP <797> and USP <800> is required.
  • The pharmacist must be comfortable working hands-on in a cleanroom environment.
  • The role requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, quality, patient safety, problem-solving, and the ability to focus during extended shifts.
  • The role requires the ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for long periods, including manual handling of medications and equipment as needed.
  • Flexibility is required to accommodate pharmacy operations and patient demands.
  • The position requires full-time, 100% on-site work.
Responsibilities
  • Accurately prepare sterile medications by following master formulations and batch records and using proper aseptic technique.
  • Review prescriptions and compounded products for accuracy, appropriate dosing, and compliance with USP chapters before dispensing.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and USP standards, including USP <797> and <800>, garbing, aseptic technique, beyond-use dating, and hazardous-drug handling.
  • Participate in cleaning, disinfection, environmental monitoring, and personnel monitoring activities according to the program.
  • Maintain complete and accurate batch records, logs, and qualification documentation.
  • Help maintain the compounding environment so it remains inspection-ready and compliant.
  • Work with pharmacy technicians, other pharmacists, and the sterile lead to keep production accurate and on schedule.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with 503A and/or 503B pharmacy operations.
  • Experience with environmental monitoring and media-fill testing.
  • Hospital IV-room or high-volume compounding experience.
  • Familiarity with electronic batch records and pharmacy systems.
  • Background in mail-order or high-volume pharmacy.
