Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field, or commensurate experience.
  • At least 8 years of supply chain experience, including distribution center, inventory, and transportation experience.
  • At least 6 years of experience leading a team.
  • Proficiency with planning, staffing, and budgeting.
  • Proven leadership skills, including coaching and developing leaders and employees.
  • A strong process improvement mindset focused on continuous growth.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems, transportation management systems, and enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Ability to evaluate overall operations and develop short- and long-term goals to meet organizational objectives.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to drive results.
  • Thorough knowledge of profit and loss.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with frontline employees, peers, and executives.
  • Ability to travel as required, approximately 5–15%.
  • Ability to lift at least 70 pounds and continuously lift, bend, twist, and crouch.
  • Must meet the requirements of the company's Motor Vehicle Record Policy and Company Vehicle Fleet Policy.
  • Must operate the company vehicle safely and professionally and wear a seat belt.
  • Must wear safety equipment when required.
  • For those with a Missouri driver's license, a valid Class E license is required.
  • For those working in a Michigan distribution center, a valid Chauffeur's License is required.
  • Ability to speak and read English well enough to converse with the public, understand road signs, respond to official questions, and make legible entries on records and reports.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and, after hire, able to pass a driver's road skills test and Department of Transportation physical.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening where permitted by applicable law.
  • Warehouse employees are subject to random drug testing.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure a safe work environment by leading safety programs, ensuring associates receive safety training and certifications, enforcing safety procedures, and addressing safety issues.
  • Create and implement technical, professional, and leadership development plans for team leads and assistant managers, and ensure development plans are created and executed for associates.
  • Use coaching, teaching, and training to develop successful team members.
  • Drive employee initiatives that create and promote an environment where team members are involved, empowered, and committed to company success.
  • Develop and execute strategies for recognition, engagement, and team building.
  • Design and implement staffing strategies so the workforce can respond to workflow variations while meeting budgetary and operational targets.
  • Develop and maintain contingency plans for time-sensitive operations, including unscheduled absences, customer issues, system malfunctions, inventory exceptions, and equipment issues.
  • Assess each associate's performance and determine appropriate actions such as promotions, counseling, and termination.
  • Provide coaching, counseling, and discipline to hold associates accountable for performance.
  • Develop and administer manpower plans, ensure associates complete tasks, and schedule staffing to meet changing daily business needs.
  • Direct daily operations, including workflow scheduling, productivity and quality monitoring, process troubleshooting, and activities required to ensure safety, inventory accuracy, on-time deliveries, and customer satisfaction.
  • Plan, organize, and monitor the receiving, storage, assembly when applicable, and distribution of items received from vendors.
  • Ensure inventory is accurate and organized and maintain proper inventory levels.
  • Ensure product relocation, replenishment, and consolidation as required.
  • Ensure company physical assets, including the building, material handling equipment, fleet, and inventory, are properly controlled, maintained, protected, and utilized.
  • Develop recommendations for the annual budget and manage and administer the distribution center budget.
  • Ensure records and reports regarding distribution center activity are prepared on time and effectively maintained.
  • Operate the company vehicle in a safe, professional manner and wear a seat belt.
  • Wear required safety equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
