- Five or more years of experience as a Hadoop Administrator or Hadoop Architect.
- Experience with Big Data and Hadoop implementations and working with Hadoop Big Data through all phases of systems development including problem definition, analysis, solution conceptualization, requirement definition, technical design, development, testing, implementation, and support following development methodology and best practices.
- Installation, upgrade, patching, configuration and support for Hadoop components including Hadoop, Flume, Hbase, Hcatalog, Hive, Hue, Impala, Mahout, Oozie, Pig, Cloudera Search, Sentry, Spark, Sqoop, Whirr, ZooKeeper and Cloudera Manager.
- Experience interacting with business teams that Hadoop/Big Data impacts to ensure their needs are being met.
- Managing user security and groups for permissions within Hadoop Distributed File System and understanding File Access Control Lists.
- Experience writing technical documentation.
- Experience managing priorities and workload.
- Backup and recovery or disaster recovery knowledge.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
