Job Description
The Certified Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician works under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The CNA/PCT performs multi-skilled duties within the limits of training and certification in caring for the patient.
Assists nursing team with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort, and safety of patients. Assists patients with personal hygiene, dressing, walking. Changes bed linens and assists with patient transportation to tests and procedures. May serve and collect food trays and provide patients with between-meal nourishment. May record temperature or vital signs under the direction of a nurse.
Additional Job Description
Minimum Education: A high school diploma or GED required. At least one year of patient care experience in a health care facility or as CNA is preferred.
Required Licensure, Certifications, and Registrations: Currently registered as a Certified Nurse Assistant in South Carolina; must be current in the Nurse Aide Registry. Will be required to maintain American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS). Crisis prevention training may be required based on department requirements.
