Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in behavioral health operations is required.
  • A minimum of three years of experience as a Program Director, Executive Director, or Clinical and Operations Manager within a residential treatment center, acute psychiatric hospital, large psychiatric unit of an acute care hospital, or other behavioral health treatment environment such as PHP, IOP, or OP settings.
  • Working knowledge of behavioral health management practices and clinical operations.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements and accreditation requirements related to behavioral health management.
  • Working knowledge of operations and financial management and marketing frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission standards and licensing regulations, with the ability to operate the program according to organizational policies, procedures, standards, Joint Commission standards, and state regulations.
  • Ability to clearly and succinctly communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to make decisions based on analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment.
  • Ability to relate effectively to people inside and outside the organization and build constructive relationships.
  • Ability to provide direct, complete, actionable positive and corrective feedback in a timely manner.
  • Ability to scope tasks and projects, set objectives, create schedules and assignments, anticipate problems, measure performance, and evaluate results.
Responsibilities
  • Partner with program leaders to manage administrative and clinical matters.
  • Plan, organize, and implement routine operations elements and opportunity-focused initiatives.
  • Assess program and staff needs, address concerns proactively, and suggest improvements.
  • Conduct daily rounding with staff and connect with onsite teams.
  • Oversee local residential, clinical, facilities, nursing, and culinary operations.
  • Collaborate with admissions, clinical outreach, utilization review, and alumni operations.
  • Ensure operations achieve key performance indicators for client, family, and referent satisfaction; treatment completion; employee turnover; and operating EBITDA.
  • Prepare and analyze key performance indicator reports.
  • Use key performance indicator data and observations from staff and managers to identify opportunities and propose strategies and tactics to maximize them.
  • Articulate and operationalize the organization's mission, vision, and values in daily decision-making.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Newport Healthcare operates a network of adolescent and young adult mental-health programs through Newport Academy, offering residential and outpatient care across the United States. It combines evidence-based therapies such as CBT, DBT, and EMDR with experiential activities like equine therapy, art, and yoga, delivered along a continuum that includes residential treatment, Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and therapeutic day schools. Care is provided on a fee-for-service basis and coordinated with major insurers to support families. The goal is to address root causes of high-risk behaviors and co-occurring disorders, empower teens, restore families, and promote lasting mental wellness.
