Requirements
  • Knowledge of advanced layout, use of simon forms, layout of anchor bolts, material takeoff from drawings, and safety requirements for building work.

Responsibilities
  • Design, construct, erect, install, and repair structures and other items made of wood, plywood, and wallboard.
  • Fasten materials together using nails, screws, staples, and adhesives.
  • Perform final checks of completed work to ensure accuracy.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and sketches, and complete reports.
  • Instruct laborers and other construction trade helpers.
  • Build and set forms, use a level instrument, tie rebar, build scaffolding, perform finish carpentry, read a tape or ruler, set screeds, install batter boards, and operate hand and power tools.
  • Inspect areas and conduct repairs or maintenance.
  • Assist other craft workers as needed.
