Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in ABET accredited Engineering program
  • 1-3 applicable years of experience related to the qualifications of the position
  • Competent skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Autodesk AutoCad
  • Automated manufacturing experience in high volume facility
  • Experience with ANSI, UL, NFPA, ISO and other applicable standards
  • Experience interpreting electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic safety circuits and evaluating performance level & circuit structure
  • Working knowledge of hazardous area classifications, occupancy classification, hazardous material inventories
  • Competent skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Autodesk AutoCad
  • Requires up to 50% travel for this role, domestic & international travel
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear
  • The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
Responsibilities
  • Work with engineering, operations, and equipment vendors for design and commissioning activities
  • Develop equipment safety standards where needed and continuously improve existing standards
  • Complete risk assessments in accordance with ISO 12100 and Rivian standards
  • Conduct equipment safety buy-offs with a cross-functional team
  • Identify opportunities and suggest corrective actions for continuous improvement
  • Create and deliver training related to equipment and machinery safety
  • Work with department EHS staff to support the shop as needed
  • Participate in learning teams, investigations, inspections, audits, etc. as needed
