Founded more than 15 years ago and headquartered in Chicago, the DV Group of financial services firms has grown to more than 450 people operating throughout North America and in Europe. Since spinning out of a large brokerage firm in 2016, DV Trading has rapidly scaled as an independent proprietary trading firm utilizing its own capital, trading strategies, and risk management methodologies to provide liquidity to worldwide financial markets and hedging opportunities to commodity producers and users. Now, DV group affiliates include two broker dealers, a cryptocurrency market making firm, and a bourgeoning investment adviser.

DV Energy is a rapidly growing division that specializes in trading crude oil, refined products, natural gas, and related energy markets across US, Europe, and Asia. Our proprietary risk management and trading methodologies along with a strong ability to adapt to changing conditions has allowed DV Energy to grow into one of the largest financial participants within the global energy complex.

Overview:

• Work side by side with senior traders
• Learn about proprietary methodologies and trading systems that support an established trading business
• Real-time risk management in the form of trade entry, risk layoffs, and counterparty exposure
• Build and maintain trading and fundamental models
• Enhance existing strategies; identify and pursue new opportunities
• Liaise between trading group, internal company departments, and OTC relationships
• Further responsibilities may be driven by the individual’s interests and specific skills

Requirements:

• Possess a strong work ethic and ability to learn quickly in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Detail oriented, organized and diligent
• Self-starter and entrepreneurial mindset
• Ability to maintain composure and communicate clearly when under pressure
• Ability to succeed working as part of a diversified team
• Strong interest in trading and commodity markets in particular
• Strong understanding of math, probability, and statistics
• High level of proficiency in Excel and VBA; SQL, python, statistical modeling, other programming experience is a plus
• Advanced aptitude for problem solving and multitasking

Annual compensation range: $75K - $100K + discretionary bonus eligibility
