Sopra Steria and Red Hat partner to deploy sovereign AI on edge devices for defence and critical infrastructure

Sopra Steria has extended its strategic collaboration with Red Hat to industrialise sovereign-ready embedded AI for deployment from data centres to constrained field equipment. Red Hat provides open building blocks whilst Sopra Steria integrates, secures and operates them as a deployable system. The platform uses Red Hat OpenShift AI for model training, Red Hat Device Edge for lightweight models on field equipment, and Red Hat Edge Manager for automated maintenance across device fleets. Applications include transport fleet logistics, public terminal infrastructure, and regulated communications, enabling real-time processing whilst maintaining operational continuity during connectivity disruptions.
