Requirements
  • Identify with Chinese, Indian, or Sri Lankan heritage.
  • Have an understanding of Intentional Peer Support or commit to completing Intentional Peer Support Core Training.
  • Have lived experience of mental health challenges and feel safe sharing parts of that experience with others.
  • Be willing to work from both the office and the local community, including occasional after-hours or weekend work.
  • Be passionate about creating safe, welcoming spaces for culturally and linguistically diverse young people.
  • Have communication skills and an interest in developing peer work, group facilitation, or community engagement skills.
Responsibilities
  • Offer one-on-one peer support and co-facilitate culturally and linguistically diverse peer groups.
  • Collaborate on culturally responsive events and social campaigns.
  • Work within local communities, including schools, festivals, and sports clubs.
  • Use lived experience to advocate for inclusive, youth-led mental health support.
  • Help reduce stigma and strengthen belonging for Chinese, Sri Lankan, and Indian communities.
  • Use personal mental health experience to build connection with culturally diverse young people and support them to feel seen, supported, and empowered.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working or volunteering in community, mental health, or youth settings.
  • Completion of, or interest in completing, Intentional Peer Support or a Certificate IV in Peer Work, Youth Work, Community Services, or Mental Health.
  • Creativity in co-designing events, group activities, or social media campaigns.
  • Ability to speak additional languages.
