Requirements
  • Maintain current unlimited State of California certification in radiology.
  • Be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Hold Basic Life Support certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association.
  • Hold Fire and Safety Certification.
  • Complete a formal radiological training program at an American Medical Association-approved school.
  • Have at least three years of experience in radiology.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of medical and scientific terminology and the ability to distinguish between types of medical procedures and diagnoses.
  • Have experience with radiology.
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Have knowledge of cross-platform computers, applications, peripherals, and general office equipment.
Responsibilities
  • Perform basic and complex magnetic resonance imaging procedures.
  • Perform assigned post-processing responsibilities.
  • Apply knowledge of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and medical terminology during imaging procedures.
  • Maintain accuracy in participant positioning and image acquisition and formation.
  • Maintain knowledge of magnetic-field safety and screen all participants and visitors before admittance into the magnetic resonance room.
  • Prepare and administer paramagnetic contrast media in accordance with department and hospital policies and state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of procedures performed.
  • Ensure accurate processing of radiology orders and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Operate various post-processing and three-dimensional workstations.
  • Translate technical terminology for laypeople.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors, campus contacts, faculty, and staff.
