Requirements
  • Current State of California unlimited certification in Radiology
  • Registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.)
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association
  • Fire and Safety Certification
  • Satisfactory completion of a formal radiological training program in an AMA-approved school
  • Certified Radiological Technologist in California
  • Minimum Education: Less than high school Specialized/technical training
  • Minimum Experience: 3 years
  • Knowledge of medical and scientific terminology
  • Knowledge of cross-platform computers, applications and peripherals, and general office equipment
Responsibilities
  • The part-time MRI technologist performs basic and complex MR imaging procedures and may be assigned post-processing responsibilities
  • Demonstrate an understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology and medical terminology
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy in participant positioning and image acquisition/formation
  • Maintain knowledge about magnetic field safety and properly screen all participants and visitors prior to admittance into the MR magnet room
  • Prepare and administer paramagnetic contrast media in accordance with department, hospital, policy and state and federal regulations
  • Maintain accurate up-to-date records of procedures performed; ensure accurate processing of radiology orders and exercise strict confidentiality
  • Operate various post processing/3D workstations
  • Understand technical terminology and translate that for the lay person
  • Maintain relationships with vendors, campus contacts, faculty and staff
