  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant supervisory experience (ideally for ten or more staff)
  • Have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Related technical experience, such as working at manufacturing facilities
  • Experience managing and/or supporting facilities design and construction projects
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local building and safety codes
  • Ability to lead technical personnel efficiently
  • Prior experience and knowledge of facilities-related systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, grounding/bonding)
  • Prior experience working at a DoD facility is a plus
Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of approximately 25 staff, including engineers, project managers, and construction managers, and technicians who provide facilities planning, design, and construction support services in an energetics manufacturing environment
  • Oversee facility planning efforts, including preparation of construction cost estimates, preliminary project schedules, facility planning documents, or engineering concept studies
  • Oversee facility design efforts, including design support for outsourced efforts (e.g., technical input to design-build or design-bid-build requests for proposal, technical reviews of design drawings or change order requests) and in-house designs
  • Oversee facility construction management efforts, such as stakeholder coordination, development and monitoring of construction schedules, evaluating construction quality, and coordinating technical reviews of change order requests
  • Ensure staff perform quality assurance/quality control activities applicable to their services
  • Advise and coordinate with facility personnel and leadership on facilities project status, follow-up actions, and recommendations for future efforts
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to meet administrative requirements for design and construction support
  • Assure that all work is completed/documented in accordance with applicable regulations and codes
  • Demonstrate project management skills associated with managing performance, mentoring staff, and managing schedules
  • Manage multiple resources and competing priorities
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to give clear direction in both verbal and written
