Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 1–3 years of commercial low-voltage installation, structured cabling, or telecommunications field experience is required.
  • Practical understanding of ANSI/TIA/EIA-568 color codes and structured cabling topologies.
  • Mastery of punch-down tools, wire strippers, RJ45 crimpers, fiber cleavers, and standard power tools, including hammer drills and band saws.
  • Must be able to pass a level 2 background check and be cleared to work within the customer premise.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, legal documents, and written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
  • Ability to solve practical problems involving concrete variables with limited standardization.
Responsibilities
  • Install, route, and secure overhead and under-floor cable pathways, including basket trays, ladder racks, and fiber runner systems.
  • Assemble, mount, level, and anchor server racks, network enclosures, structural enclosures, and seismic bracing where required.
  • Ground racks, ladders, and containment systems to the facility grounding busbar in compliance with ANSI/TIA-607.
  • Pull backbone and horizontal Cat6A copper and single-mode/multi-mode fiber-optic cabling through active pathways while maintaining minimum bend-radius requirements.
  • Terminate copper jacks, patch panels, 110-blocks, and fiber-optic connectors, including LC, SC, and MPO/MTP.
  • Dress, bundle, and comb cables into network closets and rack elevations using hook-and-loop fasteners while maintaining airflow and preventing connector strain.
  • Operate and configure copper and fiber testing equipment, including Fluke DSX-8000, optical time-domain reflectometers, and optical power meters, to certify link performance and diagnose attenuation issues.
  • Apply alphanumeric sequencing and color-code labels to cables, faceplates, patch panels, and ports according to ANSI/TIA-606 standards.
  • Assist with rack-and-stack installation of passive patch panels, network switches, and peripheral hardware.
  • Comply with federal and local occupational safety and health regulations, industry consensus standards, and the company injury and illness prevention program.
  • Participate in job-site safety and hazard analysis.
Desired Qualifications
  • Vocational or technical program completion in telecommunications or electricity.
  • Experience in a data center, ISP central office, or commercial construction environment.
  • BICSI Installer 1 or Installer 2 Copper/Fiber certification.
  • OSHA 10 Construction Certification.
  • Scissor or boom lift certification.

Circet Americas acquires Sunrise Telecom to strengthen OSP capabilities and expand US reach

Circet Americas has acquired Sunrise Telecom, a provider of outside plant construction and network services for broadband and communications operators across the United States. Financial terms were not disclosed. The acquisition strengthens Circet Americas' OSP capabilities and expands its geographic reach. It follows recent acquisitions of Blue Streak, CCU, and SourceOne as part of Circet's strategy to build a national OSP platform. Sunrise Telecom specialises in OSP construction, maintenance, and network deployment services. Adam Baumgartner will continue as CEO of Sunrise Telecom under Circet Americas' ownership. Circet Americas operates as the US holding company for Circet, a global infrastructure services specialist. The company employs over 3,000 professionals nationwide, providing services to communications providers, cable operators, and utilities.

Bill Hogg appointed CEO of Circet USA to lead network infrastructure operations

Circet has appointed Bill Hogg as CEO of Circet USA, effective 11 May 2026. Hogg will oversee the company's inside plant, data centre, wireless and cloud network construction services across North America. Hogg brings over 35 years of network infrastructure experience. He previously founded and led Gigapower, an AT&T and BlackRock joint venture that built one of the largest open-access fibre-to-the-home platforms in the US, and held senior leadership positions at AT&T. Ralph Hernandez continues as CEO of Blue Streak and CCU, Circet's outside plant construction brands. Trevor Putrah, previously CEO of Circet USA, will co-chair the US holding company board alongside Circet Group CEO Philippe Lamazou. Both Hogg and Hernandez will report to the board.
